Broker Remarks

Eden Water is a sound cruising yacht which in our 25 years of ownership has taken friends and family safely, across the Irish sea, North to the Hebrides and South to the Scillies in all weathers. Her ketch rig makes her easy to handle, even single handed, and enables her to comfortably maintain 7 knots in a fair breeze. Wheel steered via a hydraulic link she is light on the helm and her autopilot copes well with heavy seas. Sails have been cleaned and maintained professionally and are in good condition. Her suite comprises, genoa, two mainsails, mizzen, and a storm jib. Masts and spars are all sound.

Sadly, old age and school fees mean we must part; she seeks a new owner. One who will be impressed by her substantial build (Lloyds Hull Certificate) and simple controls. She retains her original winches which are simple and powerful, and has Roto stay furling for the genoa, Cruising, we have normally anchored taking advantage of some of the beautiful bays on our western seaboard. Her manual Simpson Lawrence winch easily retrieves her 80 metres of chain even in a blow. She manoeuvres well and is easily berthed, even single handed.

Below decks she is light and airy with standing headroom throughout; has, 7 berths, commodious stowage, (even a wine locker) enabling extended time away from shore facilities. Her Ice Box will keep food fresh for several days. She comes with a complete galley including cookware, dinner ware, and glasses.

With two large capacity battery banks, each able to be isolated, it is only necessary to run the engine occasionally to maintain power during extended cruising or at anchor. The 100-litre fuel capacity supports long periods under power with fuel consumption of 2.5 litres per hour.

The navigation station is equipped with VHF, GPS, and full-size chart table and can be used comfortably in a seaway. At the helm she has a Garmin chart plotter with speed and depth, which is linked to the navigation station enabling the transfer of routes and waypoints.

Laid up ashore she will benefit from a hull polish, exterior clean and her teak oiling, but after applying new antifoul (onboard and included in sale) she will be ready to go. More than half a tank of fuel on board!

Part 1 registered she comes with an extensive record of maintenance and equipment manuals, many spares, and useful accessories such as torches and searchlight.
