Broker Remarks

This Moody Halbadier 36 'Rum Rickey' is well known to us and has been on the river Dart for many years. Fundamentally a good example for most of that time but fell into neglect during a recent ownership. The current owner bought her with all good intention of refitting her but has run out of time due to other commitments. The boat is stripped of much of her gear, the engine is being rebuilt and one new fuel tank is being made. She is ready to be attacked and made into the first class boat that she could so easily be with the right owner. Great opportunity for someone.

Accommodation

6 berths in 3 cabins.
The aft cabin is accessed from the pilot house through a central companionway with steps down. Headroom is 1.9m and both single bunks are at least 1.85m with reading lights. Storage under bunk and in small cave lockers. There is a wardrobe with shelves that houses the major electronic components.
Heads en−suite has Lavac sea toilet and wash basin.
The wheel house located amidships houses the helm position with navigation instruments and engine controls. Small bench seats with storage under are located port and starboard. The sole area is hinged to give excellent access to the engine room with the warm air heater and filters readily accessible.
A canvas canopy extends from the aft end of the wheel house roof to a frame across the aft coachroof to provide a fully enclosed wheel house. A custom made mahogany folding cockpit table seats 4 comfortably.
Access to the main saloon is via a companionway to starboard and 3 steps down.
The navigation area is immediately to starboard with a drawer for charts.
Adjacent is the galley with Plastimo Neptune 2000 burner cooker, oven and grill .
A single stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water and pumped sea water is forward of the cooker. An Isotherm fridge is fitted. There is storage above and below the galley.
To port is a dinette which converts into a double berth. A two folding leaf table provides ample dining space for 6. There is locker and shelf storage behind and 4 bulkhead mounted lights.
The blue vinyl covered cushions were new in 2006.
Through the mid−section bulkhead is a wet hanging locker opposite a heads with sea toilet and basin with shower mixer.
The forepeak has two bunk berths at least 1.85m seperated by the chain pipe. Lockers below and small cave lockers both sides and a access hatch on the forward bulkhead. Reading lights above each bunk.
There are 240v 3−pin sockets throught the vessel.
Warm air heating is from an Eberspacher heater.

Mechanical and Rigging

Designed by Alan Hill and moulded by Westerly Marine Construction Ltd, this is the first all glass fibre yacht type marketed by Moody.
The hull was constructed to Lloyds 100A1 in 1972 which is the date declared on the Part 1 registry (now closed); the completed craft was believed launched in 1975
The wheel house has framed teak coamings and a grp top with an observation panel fitted.
The screens are 6mm toughened triplex glass panels.
All structural bulkheads are 5/8" marine ply bonded to the hull.
The rudder blade is of mahogany and steering is via full run Torque rods.
All hatchways are teak framed and of the 12 windows in the fore and aft coachroof, 4 are opening.
There is a teak capping rail all round and the hand rails are also of teak.
The hull was gelstripped and epoxy coated in 1997 as a preventative treatment.
