Broker Remarks

Fairline Mirage 29 For Sale: New to the market.

The Fairline Mirage 29 has proven to be a popular design both as a river cruiser and coastal motor yacht.  Below decks, the vessel is light, airy and very spacious for a 29 footer. The layout features a good size owners cabin forward.  The main saloon is open planned with the galley slightly aft, and features a generous  dinette area to port which converts to a double berth.  Oppose the dinette is a single berth settee.

The galley is equipped with cooker, sink and hot and cold water, but please note buyer will need to supply a fridge unit. The separate heads compartment features a w.c, sink, shower head with hot and cold water..

The cockpit is very spacious and incorporates a full beam width aft settee, the helm and navigators seat are single raised seats which rotate 360 degrees, this combined with a full cockpit tent, with a custom raised aft bar which allows greater headroom, overall the cockpit is practical, stylish and lends itself to a very social space.

Chui ll is fitted with Volvo Diesel AD31P-A engines with sterndrives providing 150hp each. The broker has witnessed the engines working.

In brief, but not limited to, key improvements and upgrades within the last two years include saloon and forward windows refurbished with new glazing, new carpets, curtains, spotlights upgraded to LED, new battery isolation switches and new battery charger installed. Further details upon request.

The most recent survey was carried out in September 2018 and a copy is available upon request.

In the brokers opinion, Chui II is presented in very clean and tidy condition, she appears well maintained and is in turnkey condition.  She is a very good example of this popular cruising boat, viewing is recommended.

Hot and cold water throughout

Forward of the galley to port is a large U shaped dinette area which easily converts to a double bed.  Opposite to starboard is a single settee/berth.  Plenty of storage lockers throughout.

Moving forward is a door to owners sleeping cabin with large v berth and infill to make this a generous double.  Cabin includes storage lockers.

The interior has received new carpets and curtain within the last two years, upholstery and teak joinery all appear in good order.  This is a very comfortable interior indeed.

Most recent survey carried out in 2018, copy available on request.  All the points raised and needing attention were addressed with two exception.  The surveyor recommended a smaller gas bottle. One new smaller gas bottle has been fitted but the larger one is still being run down before replacement.  The surveyor also recommended the replacement of a steel elbow on the heads outflow seacock.  the seacock was jammed and is now working.  However in discussion with the boatyard, the current owner agreed that the removal af the elbow would require significant rework of the thru hull fitting, which work would not be justified.

Owners comments

We have owned and enjoyed Chui for two years.  Although she was fitted out for river usage when we bought her, we felt she was always built for the sea and so we have upgraded and improved her for coastal cruising.  She is a fast, comfortable and reliable sea-going cruiser.  We sailed her down the Thames, through central London and up the coast to Titchmarsh marina with no problems.  She always has plenty of power in reserve, which inspires confidence.  After a day on the water, her comfortable cockpit is a great place to enjoy a sundowner with friends.

We also intended to use her as a holiday cottage and she has proved very comfortable for weekends etc.  We are reluctantly selling her because we want to go back to a sailing yacht.
