Broker Remarks

This 1977 Jupiter 30 yacht designed by Van De Stadt is being offered for sale in good condition for its age. This yacht has been well maintained over the years including a new Yanmar engine in 2016, refurbishment of the interior and updated electronics. This yacht was epoxied in 2016 as a preventative measure and copper coated. This yacht will sleep five and has a linear galley. The yacht has been owned by the current owner since 2004.


This Jupiter 30 is a spacious yacht for its size.  It offers 5 berths in two cabins with a separate heads. 

The forward cabin has a V berth with infill that converts to a double berth. The Forward cabin has a deck hatch and hanging locker. Aft of the Forward Cabin is saloon which has a U-Shaped settee with saloon table that converts to a double berth. There is storage lockers over the settee and storage beneath.

Opposite the saloon is a linear galley with stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water, a Plastimo Neptune 2500 gas cooker with two burners, grill and oven. The galley has lots of storage space.

Aft of the linear galley is the chart table with an array of navigation instruments and space to store navigation books and charts.  Aft of the chart table is a large quarter berth.

Opposite the chart table is the heads with Jabsco marine toilet, wash hand basin in a vanity unit. 

Steps take you up to the large self-draining cockpit with good access to the side decks and storage in three good sized lockers.

Spars and Sails:

Masthead Bermudan Sloop rig . Alloy deck stepped mast and boom with alloy Spinnaker pole. Stainless Steel standing rigging, age not known.  The running rigging material is Terylene and has been replaced as required. Slab reefing mainsail with furling genoa. .

Mechanical Systems:

This Jupiter 30 has a 2016 29hp Yanmar 3YM30AE 2 cylinder diesel engine located under the cockpit sole with indirect cooling. The engine has completed 239.50 hours as at 22nd January 2022. The engine is control is by single lever morse control.  It is shaft driven to a fixed 3 blade propeller. 

There is a plastic fuel tank with a capacity of 70 litres. She has a cruising speed of 5-6 knots with a maximum speed of 7 knots.

2 x 12 volt  batteries (1 x engine 2018 plus 1 x domestic 2018) both 110Ah, charging from alternator and 240 volt battery charger, shorepower connection.

Cast iron fin keel with tiller steering

History & Construction:

This Van De Stadt designed Jupiter 30 with white GRP hull and superstructure with cast iron fin keel was built in 1977. It has been owned by the current owner since 2004 who has sailed the yacht along the South Coast and across to France. The yacht under went a significant update in 2016 with new engine, epoxied and copper coated . A significant amount of the interior wood work was also replaced to a very high standard.  The keel bolts and chain plates were also reinforced at the same time. The yacht does need to be lifted, washed off and anodes changed.
