Broker Remarks

The Beneteau 393 Clipper offers a large aft cockpit, spacious interior and very good performance were all features of the successful Beneteau Oceanis 393 which saw around 700 examples built. “Duma” has the two aft cabin layout below decks with two heads and is the standard fin keel version. Two previous owners, the current owner is only selling due to ill health and is for sale fully equipped for cruising. A 2015 survey report is available on request. Viewing highly recommended.

The Beneteau offers 8 berths in 3 cabins plus converting saloon with owner's cabin forward and twin aft cabins. Two head’s compartments. Hot and cold pressurised water throughout from shore power & engine. Preston Blue fabric upholstery & yellow floral curtains. Eberspacher diesel fired hot air heating system. CD/radio saloon & cockpit speakers, plus a TV. Several opening deck hatches, opening ports. Forecabin - small settee with shelf outboard to port and large double bunk to port with storage under, forward heads compartment with sink, shower, marine WC piped to holding tank, and hanging locker. Saloon - seating for eight around table with U-shaped settee to port and bench seat midships, storage under and in cupboards. Galley to starboard with gas cooker with 3 burners and oven and grill, large top opening fridge. Heads - aft to starboard with sea toilet, sink and shower. Chart table - to port with chart storage, fiddle rail, under table storage with shelves, electrical distribution panel with 240 volt and 12-volt switch circuit breakers, battery state indicator. Two aft cabins with hanging locker and shelves.

Mechanical Systems

Powered by a single 2002 Volvo Penta D2-55 four-cylinder 55hp diesel engine with indirect cooling (last serviced September 2021), shaft drive to a fixed 3 bladed propellor with rope cutter, single lever control on binnacle. 150 litre fuel capacity in a plastic tank. 

Electrical System

3 x 12-volt 120Ah domestic batteries, 1 x 12-volt 105Ah engine battery, charging from the engine alternator, Clipper BM-1 battery monitor, shore power connection, with 240-volt ring main, immersion heater.

History and Construction

Designed by Berret-Racoupeau and built by Chantiers Beneteau, France in 2002. Blue GRP hull with style lines, external cast iron fin keel and semi balanced spade rudder. Cable linked wheel steering with leather covered wheel with and emergency tiller. White GRP deck, superstructure and self-draining aft cockpit, cockpit seats and stern bathing platform, moulded in non-slip surfaces on superstructure. Structural interior GRP moulding with varnished cherry internal joinery. Twin aft cabin layout. The hull is copper coated, age unknown. Last out of water maintenance May 2021  when the anodes were replaced,
