Broker Remarks

Widely regarded as one of the most successful mid-sized sailing yachts ever made, the Fulmar is fast, stiff and well mannered under sail, strongly built to a high standard and has comfortable accommodation. Very well maintained with previous owners dedicated to improving her to a high standard for efficient and safe short-handed cruising.

Accommodation

Sleeps seven in two cabins. Two single berths in the saloon – one converts to a double. Two singles in the fore cabin, converts to double with one infill. Galley to starboard containing Flavel Vanessa gas cooker with a two-burner hob, grill and oven. S/S sink unit with cold water supply. Set of Westerly crockery. Large built in cool box. Saloon table with drinks locker. Teak grab handles in saloon and heads. Centre economy lighting and reading lights to all berths. Optional night vision red lighting to galley and chart table. Eberspacher cabin heater (new control unit in 2001).

Mechanical and Rigging

1 x Volvo Penta 18HP 2002 engine in very good condition. Stripped down and top end refit by Purbeck Marine in 1999. Fuel capacity 20 gal, Water capacity 30 gal. Kemp spars and gas rod kicker. Soft battened main with full-length top batten and car (Saunders 1998 – good condition). Three slab reefing points. Single line reefing with all lines held to cockpit. Roller reefing genoa (Quay sails 1993 – Serviceable). Roller reefing (Furlex – new 2004) Number one and two jibs (Ratsey and Lapthorn – original but little used). Tri-radial spinnaker (Seateach 1999 – good condition) Cruising chute (Conversion from second Ratsey and Lapthorn spinnaker 2004) “Stackaway” mainsail stowage with lazy jacks. All running rigging in good condition. Standing rigging new in 1998 with new forestay in 2004.

ST 60 Multi – mounted at chart table (new 2000). All Raytheon ST and Tiller Pilot “Seatalk” connected. Roberts Dataline Wind. Raytheon SL 72 Pathfinder Radar. Garmin 120 GPS. NASA Navtex Pro. Simrad RD 68 DSC/VHF. With Vitronix cockpit speaker connected by 3-way switch at chart table (new 2004). Twin Contest 130 bulkhead mounted steering compasses. Brass clock and barometer with lighting above. Twin bow rollers and anchor stemhead stowage. SL Anchorman windlass. Hawes pipe to chain locker draining outboard. 24” Stanchions. S/S boarding ladder on transom. Sony radio/CD player with twin saloon speakers.Mainsheet track and traveler mounted just aft of bridge deck. Towable genoa sheet cars. Mast-mounted spinnaker pole with all deck and control gear. Two Lewmar 40ST primary winches and two Barient secondary winches. Teak cockpit table (demountable). Gas stowage for two bottles in cockpit locker. Sprayhood (new 2003) and dodgers. Ground and mooring tackle – CQR 35lbs, Bruce type 15kgs, Bruce 10kgs. 50m 5/16 chain plus 15m 5/16 for kedge. 50m plaited anchor warp. Two bow and two stern mooring warps for pile mooring (Nylon 20mm). All necessary mooring warps, 4 large and medium fenders plus fender skirt. Tender – Avon R250 with demountable transom wheels in excellent condition with a Mercury 2.5 engine, which has been little used. Electrics – Two 12v 120ah domestic batteries. One 80ah engine battery (new 2005). 50 amp engine-driven alternator. Blocking diodes and Adverc battery management system. Separate battery isolation switches for engine, domestics and both.
