Broker Remarks

This Varne 27 is a typical 1970s solidly built vessel with a good line to her hull and is a responsive handling sailing boat. A competent up wind yacht with sea kindly motion.


Double V berth with infill in forward cabin.
Two single berths in saloon.
Separate heads compartment with a marine toilet to the port side and storage to starboard.

The galley is situated on the starboard side and is equipped with a alcohol fuelled Origo 3000 with two burners and stailess steel sink.

Mechanical and Rigging

This Varne 27 was designed by Duncan Stuart  and built by Varne Marine in Essex in 1976.
Hull and deck constructed of GRP.

Beta SD14 14hp diesel engine with sail drive (2011) to a two bladed folding propellor.
Last serviced 2011.

Spars and Rigging:
Aluminium anodised mast and boom.
Strainless steel standing rigging last replaced 2005.

Roller reefing genoa.
Roller reefing main.
Hank on No1 jib, No2 jib and Storm jib.

2 x 12V switched batteries. (2011)

40 litre stainless steel diesel fuel tank.
Fresh water plastic tank x 2.
