Broker Remarks

A tough and rugged boat, widely known and tested on the wild American North West Coast. The styling is traditional; a slightly raised stern and a flared bow to help keep the wet stuff off the windscreen in a chop. a deep keel which offers stability and a nearly flat bottom aft which helps speed and reduces rolling. "It could be the first new craft for young boaters, or perhaps the last boat for mature couples who want to continue cruising but are tired of the responsibilities that go with owning large, fast, expensive, high maintenance yachts." PASSAGEMAKER magazine. She makes sense for all. 36’ FAROE Sedan. The Faroe 36 Sedan has been developed by the same team that has created the renowned and highly regarded CHB Trawler yachts. The CHB range have been cruising the oceans and seaways of the world for more than 35 years and by the 1980’s had gained a reputation for being solid, seaworthy, reliable and well built. The benchmark for craft of this type. Faroe Yachts have teamed up with CHB to re-introduce these amazing craft and in particular bring them to the attention of European boaters. The result is a modern take on the original time served master piece built to today’s exacting standards and in keeping with the expectations of today’s modern boaters whilst still offering unbeatable value. The Faroe 36 is ideal for cruising all our waters, with a covered walk around for the decks, a partially covered cockpit and excellent steering visibility from inside and out. When the sun shines, the aft cockpit or extensive upper deck make excellent places to enjoy the wide open spaces and sea air. The Faroe 36’ is based on the same well proven semi/full displacement hull that gave the CHB it’s excellent reputation for it’s sea keeping abilities. At the aft end, the hard chines give the boat good stability. The hull then works into a deep ‘V’ for cutting through the water and pushing the waves clear to ensure minimum spray. Powered by a reliable Cummins Diesel she cruises comfortably at 8 knots. Max speed 10knots. HULL & SUPERSTRUCTURE On both the hull and superstructure we use an ISO resin and US made Valspar gelcoat. we minimise the use of external teak to keep maintenance to a minimum and enjoyment to the maximum. The hull is a solid hand-laid fibreglass laminate. We use no coring in the substantial hull laminate. On the outer layers of the hull we use a vinylester resin which is more resistant to water penetration than a standard polyester resin. This helps to prevent blistering. To further eliminate the risk we also epoxy below the waterline on all of our new boats. The superstructure is hand-laid with synthetic honey comb coring material for light but stiff construction and longevity. FORE DECK & COVERED WALK AROUND SIDE DECKS The safe covered side decks provide easy access forward and aft make docking of the boat easy. Adding to their effect are two bulwark doors, one on each side of the boat which ensures easy access to the pontoon or tender. At the bow is an electric Vetus Windlass with 1100 lbs of lifting capacity and a standard 150’ of high strength galvanized chain. There is a self launching 45 lbs CQR type anchor that can be lowered or lifted from the bow, the inside or the fly bridge. There is a seawater wash down hose connector conveniently placed for washing down the boat. COCKPIT The cockpit is very large for a boat of this size and makes an excellent place to set out a couple of chairs and a small table to enjoy the scenery Under the cockpit is a spacious lazarette that houses the batteries and still has a huge amount of storage space. At the aft end of the cockpit there is a hot/cold freshwater shower and just aft of that is an extensive swim grid and fold up stainless steel swimming ladder. FLYBRIDGE On the starboard side of the door to the saloon there is a ladder leading up to the expansive fly bridge. As you get onto the top deck you will notice the huge area to lay out lounge chairs so that guests can sit and keep the captain company or can even be used to store a 10’ hard bottom tender. Forward of the fully adjustable helm seat is a storage locker that is about 8’ wide and 3.5’ deep. Above the helm is a hinged radar arch with plenty of room to install all of the electronics you would ever want. Surrounding the entire upper deck are high 1 1⁄4” #316 stainless steel railings that give you a feeling of security. ENGINE ROOM All of the equipment on the Faroe 36’ is very easy to access. Wherever there is equipment, there is access to it. The engine room is accessed through 5 hatches in the saloon floor. The main hatch has a ladder going down in to the engine room which is well-lit and very spacious with ample room on all sides of the Cummins QSB230HP Diesel Engine with 160 amp alternator. There is substantial lead cored sound insulation surrounding the engine room and covered with aluminium panelling giving the engine room a very clean feeling. The floor is also finished with moulded aluminium panelling. You will quickly notice that all of the hoses and wiring are tucked away neatly and are labelled. The standard PYI drip less shaft seal can be seen through a clear Plexiglas panel on the floor. Although the boat comes standard with 4, 200 amp hour batteries and 3000W iinvertor/battery charger, many people still would like a generator and there is plenty of room for one in the engine room. We can supply the Northern Lights 5KW at the factory or we can pre-plumb and pre-wire for a smaller generator to be installed here. All important points such as the sea cock and strainers on the engine raw water intake, the exhaust Muffler, Racor fuel filter and the three automatic bilge pumps and a manual bilge pump are easily accessable. Standard equipment includes an Eberspecher Airtronic L which is located in the engine room. SALOON & DINETTE Walking into the saloon the first impression is one of spaciousness. The ceiling height is a minimum of 6’ 5” and increases in height as you look forward. Large windows allow you a 360 degree panoramic view and ensures the saloon is bright and airy. On the port side is an H shaped dinette with a hi-low table enabling the table to lower so the dinette can be used as a bed. The leaves can also be folded up to make a more comfortable seating area. There are two drawers under the aft dinette seat and storage under the cushions on both seats. To starboard there is an extra long Settee with storage below its whole length. It easily converts into a berth. Leatherette covered cushions with 5” thick foam are used throughout. The six halogen downlighters and two adjustable reading lights create ambiance and illumination. AC sockets are provided for numerous electrical requirements. GALLEY Further forward to port the L-shaped galley comprises a Corian type work top with teak trim, giving ample room for food preparation. At the forward end is a double stainless steel sink with single lever American style faucet and pull out spout. The boat is equipped with a Princess Electric cooker with 3 Burners and Oven / Grill and extractor fan above. Behind the helm seat is a Dometic refrigerator/freezer (7Cu.ft) . Under the entire countertop and at the forward end of the dinette is storage. In the galley there are 5 drawers, 3 cabinets and a garbage bin. Across from the galley under the helm seat there is a large slide out drawer that makes an excellent place to store cups or bottles. There are two AC outlets in the galley for extra appliances that can be operated using the yachts 3000W inverter. INTERNAL HELM On the starboard side is a sliding door that lets in a nice breeze while under way and also makes handling the boat while docking much easier. The built in helm seat is located just forward of the fridge / freezer. Being raised it provides a good vantage point to see clearly over the bow. The teak steering wheel is mounted on the teak dash that provides an excellent place to install navigational electronics. This also holds the morse engine control levers, bow and stern thruster controls, windlass controls, horn, windshield wiper and washer and the tank gauges for fresh water and fuel, a DC outlet and the AC & DC electrical panels. There is a large hinged drawer with ample space for chart storage. HEADS The head is accessed through a door on the port side of the stateroom. The head is well lit with a halogen light and a porthole. The standard toilet is an electric Jabsco toilet with macerator pump. There are two storage cabinets in the head and a built in stainless steel sink and chrome faucet shower mount hung from the wall.
