Southerly 28 sailing yacht for sale. 'Summer Wine' is a lovely example of this popular lifting keel sailing yacht. She has been extensively upgraded by her current owner at a cost of approx. £15k. Upgrades include bow thruster, new boom with in-boom reefing and mainsail by Jeckells, new sprayhood and frame, new upholstery by Jeckells, new cooker, internal helm dual control throttle, new water and fuel tanks, etc, etc. Vessel hull and ridder epoxy treated in 2006 as preventative measure.

Current owner comments re: preventative maintenance and upgrades to engine
1) New water pump fitted
2) New stern seal (RMTA)
3) Engine mounts replaced (whilst fitting new stern seal unit)
4) New water intake strainer (with larger filter to prevent potential fouling)
5) New exhaust manifold (old one had some corrosion visible)
6) Water hoses replaced (as fitting exhaust manifold)
7) Heat exchanger checked and cleaned (every 2 years)
8) Gauges on cockpit instrument paned replaced (due to UV damage)
9) Receipts for fuel / oil filters, anodes, belts etc. available.

Hull Epoxy Treatment
The GRP hull (below the waterline) and the rudder were epoxy treated in July 2006. The work comprised of removing antifoul paint and gel coat using specialist peeling machine, grit blasting surfaces by specialist, hot pressure washing, monitoring moisture levels, applying primer and 6 coats of epoxy, then applying antifoul paint and boot top.
