It has been owned by the current owners for the past two years, and they are only selling due to a lack of time to sail her.

Accommodation

Essentially, the Robbers 3Es accommodation leans toward practicality - simple, race-influenced and focusing on maximising usable interior compact space. It is capable of weekend cruising or club racing. It is not a luxury cruiser.

This Robber 3E offers six berths in two cabins. It has 5ft 10in standing headroom.  However, because of its beam, it has a more spacious interior than many other quarter tonners.  There is one chemical head. The upholstery is red. There is a two-burner hob and sink in the galley area. 

The cockpit is spacious for a yacht of its size with two good-sized lockers, one with a built in gas locker.

Mechanical and Rigging


This Robber 3E has a Bermudan sloop masthead rig. It has an aluminium deck-stepped mast and boom, with stainless steel standing rigging new in 2015. Aluminium spinnaker pole. Manual backstay adjuster. All of the running rigging was replaced in 2024.  It has a slab reefing mainsail with furling headsail. It has a stackpack and lazyjacks, both new in 2025, to make sail handling easier.

Mechanical Systems:
This Rodder 3E has a Yanmar 1GM 10HP diesel engine fitted. It is seawater cooled with a shaft drive to a 2-blade folding prop, It has a 22-litre plastic fuel tank.  It cruises at 5 knots and has a maximum speed of approximately 6 knots. The engine was last serviced in January 2025. 

Electrical Systems 

1 x 12V Domestic and 1 x 12V Engine battery, purchased approximately 3 years ago, charged by the engine alternator and via a 240V ring main shore power system.

History & Construction

The Robber 3E was a development of an earlier Swedish-designed yacht by Peter Stahle in circa 1975, originally made of multi-chine plywood. The 3E iteration was modified by Stuart Jardine, retaining the same underwater profile but featuring a straighter sheer line and a narrower transom to increase the sail area for IOR racing.  It has been owned by the current owner for the past two years. It was last surveyed for insurance purposes in 2024.  The  Owner is are selling due to a lack of time to use her. She is currently afloat in Chatham Marina
