Broker Remarks

Moody Eclipse 33 for sale. An opportunity to purchase a bilge keeled version of this popular deck-saloon family cruiser, rarely on the market. Volvo 28hp diesel. Sloop rig with in-mast mainsail reefing and headsail furling. Accommodation for 6 in 3 cabins including the saloon. Although often viewed as "motor-sailers", and thus slow under sail, they are actually based on modern sailing yacht hull/keel combinations, and thus offer good cruising performance under sail plus the comfort of a deck saloon layout. They were designed specifically to have in-mast mainsail furling and roller genoas, and hence are easily controllable by a small crew. "Yachting Monthly" reviewed the Eclipse 33 in December 2001, and commented "..... they're great boats for moderate-wind Channel cruising rather than bluewater. The cosy pilothouse will certainly extend your sailing season, and yes, she does sail surprisingly well too."
