Broker Remarks

Owners Remarks:
In 2011 we found the perfect boat for our young family. The cockpit provided the ideal centre for everyone to enjoy being outside. The high sides are very comfortable and enabled us to fit highchair seats. It is also large enough to entertain visiting families comfortably. Another great advantage is being able to stand up straight inside. Giving a very spacious feel. The storage units are very well thought out. We have easily fit everything for five weeks holiday periods, including fold-up bicycles, spades buckets and fishing gear.
Having a front and rear cabin allows for quiet afternoon naps while parents enjoy sailing. We have also used the rear cabin as a large playpen where the kids had the freedom to get out their Lego and other toys and hang out comfortably on bumpy passages.
We bought Eider from the first owners. They sailed her to the Netherlands in 1974 and spent many holidays in Sweden and Denmark. We enjoyed many holidays in the Netherlands on the Waddenzee, Lauwersmeer and IJsselmeer. We have also sailed to Germany and Denmark.
Because she only has a 1-meter draft, we could easily access the most shallow waters. The bilge keel allows for wonderful beaching experiences.
We sailed Eider to Devon in 2017; we fell in love with the Devon and Cornish sailing opportunities and decided to get a permanent mooring and leave Eider in the Uk. We have since then enjoyed wonderful holidays with our now teenage children. We love our Eider but also feel it’s a shame that we can spend so little time on her. Because we live in the Netherlands, we would love to see Eider go to someone who will have the time to enjoy and look after her.
The sailing experience is unique because she is a very steady boat. We have never felt unsafe. We rarely have to put a reef in the sails. She handles rough water well. The cockpit tent allows for a pleasant sailing experience and makes the living area much larger when closed up. Often the children sat in the cabin playing games while the adults enjoyed the surroundings comfortably inside the cockpit tent. She sleeps 6, and we have comfortably done so many times. Eider is a lovely and unique boat for the whole family to enjoy.
