Broker Remarks

This Hunter Legend 41 is the preferred  two cabin owners version offering excellent accommodation for six combined with a spacious saloon and luxurious owners cabin with en-suite heads forward. This is the perfect yacht for live aboard or long term cruising. With her lead wing keel she draws a moderate 5' ideal for East Coast Cruising or exploring the Med and Baltic's shallow waters, whilst still easily handled and well suited to extended passage making.  This yacht has a good inventory including diesel warm air heating, electric windlass, autopilot, chart plotter, bow thruster, MOB alert system and Liferaft. She has been owned by the current owners for the past three years as is only being sold as they don't have the time to use her as they had planned.

Accommodation

The Hunter Legend 41 owners version features a large aft guest cabin with the owners cabin with en-suite forward with two saloon settee berths and excellent headroom at 6'4".

The Forward cabin is the owners cabin and is fitted with a double berth to port, generous storage in various lockers, It has a vanity unit with wash basin, micro and storage beneath, large opening hatch and access to the en-suite which is forward in the bow.

The En-suite Heads which is forward of the owners cabin has a separate heads compartment with marine toilet, shower, storage and opening hatch to the foredeck.

Aft of the owners cabin is the Saloon which is spacious and has a U-shaped settee to port with a large table that converts to a double berth. There is a double sofa opposite with pull out draw storage. The Saloon has excellent storage and full standing headroom throughout. The Saloon is also very light and airy with side windows and three large opening deck hatches which give good light and ventilation and further inset deck lights forward.

Aft of the saloon and to Port is the large galley which has an l-shaped work surface. The galley is equipped with a 2 burner Force 10 gas cooker with both oven and grill, large opening front fridge, microwave oven, twin stainless steel sinks, waste bin lockers , cutlery drawer and is being sold with Hunter crockery. The galley also has two opening port lights above.

Opposite the galley and slightly aft is the Nav Station . The navigation area is fitted with an array of instruments, large chart table, stereo system with remote (new 2021), heater controls, electrical distribution panel and lots of stowage space. 

Behind the Nav station  is a large spacious heads equipped with a currently replaced Jabsco marine toilet with holding tank, separate shower cubicle and opening port lights.

The boat is fitted with an Eberspacher diesel fired heating system which adds to the yachts warm and cosy feel, She is fitted with pressurised hot and cold water throughout. Hot water is heating by the calorifier and also a 240V immersion heater. The interior of this yacht just has a real luxury and cosy feel about her and is in outstanding condition.

Sails and Spars:

Bermudan fractionally rigged sloop with Selden double spreader, deck stepped aluminium mast  and boom. Furling Genoa and and mainsail with all lines led aft. Discontinuous stainless steel standing rigging. Bergstorm and Ridder rig with no backstay. Solid kicker. Terylene running rigging. Furlex headsail furling system.

Winches:

  • 2 x Harken 44 self-tailing sheet winches
  • 2 x Harken 40 self-tailing halyard winches 

Sails:

  • Furling Mainsail, 2006, Dacron  very good condition

Mechanical Systems:

Located behind the companionway steps in a vented and sound proof compartment is a Yanmar 4JHSE four cylinder 54HP diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via a heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start.  Shaft drive with rope cutter to a three blade fixed proper. It has a 136 litre fuel tank, Lewmar bow thruster with controls at the helm.

The engine has been well maintained and has been service by the previous owner a retired marine engineer and the current owner. Engine last serviced in April 2021.  The engine bay also has a fire extinguisher system 


Electrical Systems:

4 x 12V Batteries 2 x 120AH domestic batteries new 2020 , engine start battery and bow thruster battery ((110AH) new 2021) all charged via engine alternator and 240v shore power system and by a Rutland wind generator with HRDX charge controller and monitor.  Bowthruster has its own additional battery charger. 240 Shorepower with rings main, full cabin lighting  with 12V and 240v sockets.

History:

This Hunter Legend 41 built in 2006 by Hunter marine USA to a Glen Henderson design has a white GRP hull with style stripes, superstructure and teak laid cockpit sole. Lead wing keel with 5ft draft. Wheel steering to a spade hung rudder. The yacht has been owned but the current owner for the past three years and has had one other owner from new. The yacht is being sold due to work commitments. 

The vessel was last out of the water in 2019 when she was anti fouled, hull polished and anodes replaced.
