Broker Remarks

This lovely wooden boat was built by Platt on the East Coast. About one hundred boats of this design were built. There have been some articles on this type of boat in the leading magazines. The boat is believed to structural sound, but could do with some cosmetic TLC. A rare opportunity to purchase a classic wooden boat for a reasonable price. Offers on the asking pricwe will be considered.

Accommodation

The cabin has standing headroom. The settees in the main cabin convert into a double berth by lowering the table. Two more berths are in the fore cabin. The heads are forward of the main cabin. The simple galley has a stainless steel sink and a single burner gas cooker.

Mechanical and Rigging

Wooden hull and deck. The hull is clinker built of Iroko on steam bent oak frames. The decks are covered in cascover. The keel is a traditional long keel with cast iron ballast and centreplate. New stainless stanchions were fitted recently. This boat benefits from a near new Beta 13hp engine. It was installed in 2006 and has done only 25 hrs. The boat caries a Bermudan rig on a wooden mast. The head sail is fitted on a roller reefing system. The main sail has slab reefing with two reefing points. Total sail area is 259sq.ft. Last year the main sail cover was replaced.
