Broker Remarks

'Clanata' is in great condition having benefited from a re-fit in 1994 and more recently having been overhauled by her current owner. This boat is ideal for young families and fun for children to sleep under the cockpit cover while the adults can enjoy the relative comfort of the cabin below. The Fairey Spearfish is the perfect weekender that is not afraid of long distances and with an impressive turn of speed. Last surveyed in February 2009 - copy available upon request Viewing highly recommended.

Accommodation

The cabin is entered from the cockpit via a two-part teak louvered folding door to starboard and down two steps. From forward are two single berths in a U shaped configuration with a dining table in between. This can be lowered and with the appropriate infill makes up into a double berth. There is storage under the berths. Padded backrests outboard support varnished teak lockers beneath the side windows. Set in the forward bulkhead are doors into the huge storage area for bedding and clothing. Set in the roof are ventilators and a large escape hatch. The full length side windows open for added ventilation.

In the port after corner of the cabin is a door into the toilet compartment and in here is a manual PAR sea toilet outboard under the side deck with hatches in the lining behind giving access to sea cocks below and into toiletries locker above. In the after corner is a washbasin with H & C mixer tap, mirror and night light. A hatch in the after bulkhead accesses the back of the instrument panel up in the cockpit helm position. The dining table can be stowed against the forward bulkhead when not required. There is full standing headroom in here and all surfaces are washable.

Galley:
The galley is just inside the cabin entrance to starboard and comprises of a stainless steel sink with H & C mixer tap, lockers below for food and cooking utensils

Cockpit:
The cockpit is covered in teak and has the helm position to port and compromises single helm seat hinged against the forward end of the engine box in front of a comprehensive array of engine instruments with the navigation aids neatly set across the console. Visibility is excellent through the curved windscreen. To starboard is a matching seat. Lockers in the cockpit are ideal for boat spares.
Below the helm and passenger seats sit the immensely powerful Sabre Perkins 225hp turbo diesels. These were installed new in 1994 and endow the boat with tremendous power as well as ease of maneuvering at low speed.

Hatches in the floor can be raised to reach the bilges, fuel tanks and steering gear. A sprayhood and camperback can enclose the cockpit when desired. A transom boarding ladder is fitted and there are handrails around the cockpit sides.

Deck Area:

The exterior decks are very wide and give excellent grip wet or dry. There are grab rails on the cabin roof and the foredeck is surrounded by a stainless steel pulpit rail for crew security.
