Broker Remarks

An exceptional opportunity to own a unique Camper and Nicholson's Gentleman's launch from 1917 in pristine condition. Built-in the same era as the 'GELYCE' class motor launches built to ferry guests to yachts and spectators around the America's Cup, it was probably built as a 'Pinace/tender' for the military.

Postalino's new life began in 2007, when she received a keel up refit by Italian Craftsmen. An engineer from Milan was engaged to perform a laser-scan survey. Teak on Oak decks were replaced with 15mm and new Douglas planking, with around 90% of the boards retained. A major and fully documented keel up refit by a passionate owner.

Modern additions include a bow thruster and a new 110hp Yanmar motor with an 8m shaft, electrical and plumbing upgrades, numerous other navigation, and domestic equipment to add to the onboard comfort. The refit is well documented with hundreds of photographs.

This little ship certainly has a colourful history. Known to be in Northern Europe until the 1940s then arrived in Europe via the French canals. In 1971, Postalino was used for coral fishing in northern Sardinia, where the owner even installed a hyperbaric chamber and by 1976, she became a luxury transfer tender for Club Med guests in the La Maddalenas of Northern Sardinia and featured regularly as a regatta support boat in Porto Cervo. Notably featuring in a famous French movie from 2006 'Les Trois Amies'

A top-quality 1917 motor launch of great class from the Camper and Nicholson's yard, fully restored to an extremely high standard, retaining the elegance and style of the period and tastefully updated with modern systems and equipment. Professionally maintained and stored ashore.
