JUST REDUCED FOR A QUICK SALE

"Darling Buds of May" Barbican 33 has been in the same ownership since its launch in 1980. From new she benefitted from extra lay up in the areas: king post, tabernacle, mast support, bridge deck and bilges as well as being epoxy coated. The hull was copper coated in 2002, since then she has been lightly used and believed to be the only Barbican with opening hinged portholes throughout.

The mast can be easily lowered and as such she would be ideal for a future owner considering exploring the inland water ways of Europe and is perfectly set up for short handed sailing. A few years ago the owners spent three years in the French canals, all the necessary heavy equipment for that trip, plus guides & charts will be included in the sale.

The Owners are now sadly giving up, very many usual domestic items will be left onboard including if you wish fitted sheets.

Designed by Maurice Griffiths, and built by Terry Erskine of Golden Hinds fame, her original modifications drawings are available as well as all the manuals for the equipment aboard. She can be steered with one of the two autopilots whilst sitting in the hatchway and monitoring the GPS. Virtually a second steering position out of the rain. Two recent not apparent but  expensive maintenance items have just been fitted, new steel centre plate and gear (cost £1500) and raw water pump (£600).

She is currently ashore at Northney Marina Hayling Island and viewing is by appointment. Please contact Simon Flowers on 01243 550042.
