The Halmatic 30 MKII is a highly respected long-keeled offshore cruising yacht, renowned for her sea-kindly handling, strong construction, and ability to inspire confidence in all weather conditions. Designed for serious cruising, she offers dependable offshore performance while remaining easy to manage short-handed or single-handed.

This particular example is a proven and capable yacht, demonstrating both her seaworthiness and practicality. Below deck, she offers a surprisingly spacious and comfortable interior with excellent headroom, generous storage throughout, and the traditional charm these classic yachts are known for.

Accommodation

The accommodation is both practical and comfortable, offering up to five berths in two cabins with an impressive 6ft 3in of standing headroom and excellent storage throughout, making the yacht ideal for family cruising and extended weekends afloat.

The forward cabin features a spacious V-berth with useful storage beneath, an opening deck hatch providing excellent natural light and ventilation, and a hanging locker conveniently located opposite. To starboard is a separate heads compartment fitted with a marine toilet and wash basin with pressurised cold water.

The bright and welcoming saloon offers a sociable layout, with a dinette to starboard that easily converts into a generous double berth, while a settee berth opposite provides additional sleeping accommodation. Grey velvet upholstery, blue carpeting and a folding saloon table create a warm and inviting living space for relaxing or entertaining onboard.

A dedicated chart table is positioned to starboard, opposite the well-appointed galley, which is equipped with a two-burner gimballed gas cooker with oven and grill, stainless steel sink with pressurised cold water, cool box, radio and ample storage. A generous 200-litre stainless steel freshwater tank provides an excellent water supply for extended cruising.

Companionway steps lead to the spacious cockpit, which comfortably seats up to five people and is perfect for relaxing or dining afloat. A large cockpit locker provides excellent storage for cruising gear, while a separate gas locker adds practicality and convenience.

 

Mechanical and Rigging

Masthead-rigged sloop. Anodised Selden aluminium keel-stepped mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2024.  Terylene running rigging (renewed as required).Slab reefing mainsail with lazyjacks and furling headsail with 2024 Selden furling system.  It has a manually adjustable backstay. Some lines led aft. Spinnaker Pole,

Mechanical Systems:

Located behind the companionway, 2014 Beta Marine 25, 25 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine. Engine hours 400 as at August 2026. Electric start, direct cooling. Shaft drive to a three-bladed fixed propeller with a rope cutter. Single lever control. 45 litre fuel capacity in a stainless steel tank. The engine will cruise at 6 knots.  Maximum speed under power 7 knots. The engine has been regularly serviced by the owner. Last serviced July 2025

Electrical Systems:

2 x 12-volt batteries, approx 6 years old, charging from the engine alternator and solar panel, It has a battery management system. Shore power connection with 240-volt ring main.

History and Construction:

Built in 1984 by Halmatic to a design by John Sharp. Light blue GRP hull. Teak toe rail.  White GRP superstructure with moulded non-slip to the deck.  Long keel with external cast iron ballast. Keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self-draining cockpit. Full preventative Osmosis treatment carried out in 2025 by the owner. This yacht was last out of the water in July 2025 when she was antifouled, the hull was polished, and anodes were changed. She has been owned by the current owner for the past 3.5 years and last surveyed in October 2023. All survey recommendations have been completed.
