History: In 1962, SAF-T-MATE Boat Company began production of fibreglass boats in Cadillac, Michigan. In 1975, the Winn family (father and three sons) purchased the business and changed its name to Four Winns boats. By the mid-eighties, Four Winns introduced the Horizon, Sundowner and Vista series and the first inboard powered cruiser.

In 1986, Four Winns was sold to OMC, and in 1996, Green Marine acquires Four Winns’ parent company OMC. In 2001 Genmar purchased Four Winns Boats.
