Bavaria 38 Ocean

This Bavaria 38 Ocean is designed for cruising and was equipped for the Med in 2009/10 prior to a two year Mediterranean tour.  Njord has been in the current ownership for 11 years and has had one previous owner. An inner stay sail and running backstays were installed in 2010.  There is room in the cockpit to seat six passengers and enough length for a 6-fotter to stretch out for a nap.  The stern is designed for the casual cruiser with a two – step swim platform equipped with a stainless steel ladder hinged to go in the water and a shower.

Powered by a Volvo Penta 50 hp diesel engine with sail drive and a range of approximately 400 nautical miles.  3-blade folding propeller, with anodes fitted this year.

Sloop rigged, in mast mainsail reefing, headsail furling and removable bowsprit for cruising chute.

This Bavaria 38 Ocean has a full navigation package which includes radar, chartplotter, autopilot, GPS, Navtex and AIS receiver.  Also included in the specification are a holding tank, Webasto Heating and a Wi Fi access point.

Canvas includes sprayhood, bimini (both fitted 2010), full aft / foredeck sun awning and a full winter cover.

To ease getting ashore the boat is equipped with detachable davits for storing the Quicksilver 270 Airdeck tender with davit mounts and cover equipped with Mercury 4-stroke 6hp outboard.

The generous beam of the Bavaria 38 Ocean (3.95 metres).  Below decks this Bavaria 38 Ocean can sleep six in two double and two single berths in three cabins including the saloon.  For the comfort of the crew there is Webasto heating and 4 deck hatches.

The owners cabin spans the stern and has a 6’ long, 5’ 6” wide berth in the centre surrounded by finely finished mahogany closets and cabinetry, a sitting area and hanging lockers.  The forecabin has a V berth 6’ 4” on the centreline, there is a tall hanging locker to starboard and a similarly sized cabinet with three shelves.
