 Westerly Tiger

Westerly Tiger

Designed by John Butler, Bermudan sloop rigged, fin keeled, aft cockpit yacht. This Westerly Tiger , SKYE TIGER is a good example of this Westerly model and has been regularly maintained and updated throughout her ownership.  The standing rigging was replaced in 2017.  The Westerly Tiger is a little known model from Westerly but it is a few inches shorter than the Centaur but beamier so they have very similar internal space.

The Westerly Tiger was designed as a clean lined, fast single keel, cruiser to be used for performance and comfortable cruising.  The side decks are wide to give easy access to the fore deck and there are teak grab rails on either side of the coach roof as well as all working surfaced being coated with non slip paint.  The cockpit is 7 feet long, deep and self draining, so is comfortable and offers excellent protection from the elements. Tiller steering

The Westerly Tiger has two cabins and a separate head.  The door of the heads compartment is also used to enclose the fore cabin where there are two full length berths. the saloon contains an L shaped dinette which lowers to form a double berth (or a wide single one) and two full length quarter berths.  The galley is to port with cooker, sink and icebox under the seat opposite.

Her engine is a Volvo Penta 18 hp diesel with access both via the companionway steps and the cockpit locker.  The engine hours on unknown. All electrical systems were overhauled in 2014.

Equipment includes Garmin chart plotter, Sprayhood, sail cover and Avon dinghy with 2.5hp outbaord

For sale as the owner is retired and no longer uses the boat.

SKYE TIGER is currently afloat on a pontoon mooring in Dartmouth, on the River Dart and available for viewing.  An ideal first boat for a couple or family.
