New home for NYB Dartmouth

A new home for NYB Dartmouth is taking shape at Noss on Dart Marina, on the beautiful Devon coast. With a proud history of helping our clients out of our present building since 2005, we can’t wait to move into our brand new sales office over the course of summer 2021.

This £75m development by Premier Marinas has moved on apace throughout the winter period, and the new commercial buildings and car park are now rising rapidly to provide a modern working environment alongside the beautiful River Dart.  Owners with boats for sale will be assured of a warm welcome from James and Phil, as of course will those looking for their dream purchase, and the new marina setting will provide the perfect backdrop as well as a gorgeous destination with great facilities for boaters and visitors alike.

We love and appreciate our current office base, which forms part of the original George Philip & Son shipyard buildings and there is real sense of history as we look out over this stretch of the river which saw the creation of numerous vessels from large ships right through to some iconic sailing yachts including Chay Blyth’s 59 ft (18 m) Robert Clark-designed ketch, British Steel, in which he famously reverse-circumnavigated the globe (ie the “wrong way”, from east to west, and thus against the prevailing winds and ocean currents) over 292 days in 1970/71.  British Steel was launched on 19th August 1970 after a build-time of only four months, a record at the time.

We will be providing regular updates on the progress of this exciting project throughout the Spring and Summer months so do keep an eye on our pages for further news.
