Nauticat 33 for sale.  Ketch rigged Motorsailer built by Sitalia Yachts in Finland, designed by W.Aarnipalo.  Traditional layout with high aft deck.  Teak deck and long keel.

The Nauticat 33 has become synonymous with high quality motor sailers.  She is a heavy displacement long-keel ketch with a wooden superstructure, including a central wheelhouse.  It also features safe, high bulwarks, an easily handled low aspect ratio rig.

The design was updated in 1977 with a raised aft deck incorporating a seating area and outside steering position, which solved perhaps the biggest disadvantage of the original design, namely the lack of anywhere to sit outside.

Powered by Ford Mermaid 90hp diesel engine installed in 2004, engine mountings and prop shaft replaced 2010.  Vetus bowthruster added in 200 with controls in wheelhouse and upper steering position.

Recent updating included battery charger, stainless steel fuel tanks, Nelson cooker, heads and flooring in forecabin.

This Nauticat 33 has been priced realistically at £42,500.  She has the much admired space of any other Nauticat 33, which includes a spacious wheelhouse with large sliding Perspex roof light.  Access port and starboard through sliding doors.

Webasto cabin heating with outlets in all cabins.

A couple of steps down from the wheelhouse take you into the linear galley with a separate, cosy dining area opposite (which can convert to a double berth).  The cooker was replaced in 2014 with a gimballed Nelson 2 burner cooker with oven.  Lots of useful stowage for supplies and utensils.

The aft cabin has a double berth to port, with hatch and access to heads compartment.

The forecabin has a ‘V’ berth with infill to make a double, the teak and holly floor was replaced in 2005.  Access to foreward head (bowl and pump replaced in 2009), shower sink and vanity unit replaced in 2010.

The Nauticat 33 has great sailing performance for a motor sailer.  The rails and external timber could do with some varnish but otherwise she is in good condition for her age.

The owner tells us that ‘he has a great deal of paperwork for HIGHTIME, including bills, receipts, manuals and title documents.’

Currently ashore at Noss on Dart Marina in Dartmouth
