Conwy’s LA-LA Rally 2015

With the 22nd annual Conwy River Festival now underway, preparations are taking place for one of the most popular features of the event – the LA-LA Rally! An accompanied cruise for yachts and motor boats, the event was originally conceived as a passage between the Liverpool Arms in historic Conwy and the Liverpool Arms in picturesque Menai Bridge.

In more recent times the LA-LA Rally has developed into a two-night event, taking in breathtaking coastal views, the Menai Strait and the stunning backdrop of Snowdonia, leading to Caernarfon and its famous hospitality. The challenges facing participants include the notoriously difficult Swellies in the Strait, once called the “most dangerous stretch of water in the World” by Admiral Nelson because of its maelstrom of whirlpools and surges. Eager participants, accompanied by experienced sailors, can complete tasks and activities en route to win prizes.

The LA-LA Rally is an unmissable opportunity to test your sailing abilities in challenging waters, whilst taking in majestically inspiring views of North Wales.
