Broker Remarks

A well equipped, fin keel version of the ever popular family cruiser, the Westerly Falcon.  Built in 1988, an aft cockpit yacht designed by Ed Dubois and re-engined in 1999 with a Yanmar 30hp diesel engine (last serviced in March 2014) she can go to a speed of 6/7 knots under motor.

Comfortable accommodation for six in two double cabins (aft en-suite) plus two single berths in the saloon with Eberspacher diesel fired warm air heating in the cabin.  There is an additional heads compartment forward.  The interior joinery is completed in teak and ash and there is more than 6’ of headroom.  There has been a modification to the galley at port settee bunk to accommodate storage / rubbish containers and to provide trotter box for port berth.  Covers and curtains were fitted in late 2013.

‘Toucan’ is sloop rigged with stack-pack and lazyjacks.  Quay Sails fully battened mainsail and furling genoa from 1996.  There is also a cruising chute and snuffer.  'Toucan' has an excellent cruising inventory including liferaft, dinghy, electric windlass and she has a comprehensive electronics package including radar and autopilot.

An lpine stereo/radio cassette player with six disc CD auto changer is linked up to a four speaker system with two speakers that are movable to the cockpit.

Under only her second ownership since new, this Westerly Falcon34 is offered in commission and ready to sail away with a new owner.  Currently afloat in the River Dart, a short boat ride away from our office at Noss Marina, Dartmouth.

Owners Remarks:

I have owned 'Toucan' since 2005.  I am only the second owner.  I have cruised UK from Portsmouth to Channel Islands and France and to the West Country. I have sailed 'Toucan' single handed for a lot of the time and she is ideally rigged for short handed sailing.  Withe her wide beam and excellent head room, I have always found the yacht comfortable and on the occasions when the weather has been unpleasant, she has always looked after us.
