Broker Remarks
Westerly Falcon 34 for sale. A nice example of a bilge keel version of this popular model from Westerly. Recently updated with new upholstery, new curtains, new covers, new unused mainsail and more. Priced sensibly to reflect the current market and an increasingly rare opportunity to buy a quality bilge keeler with great accommodation including a very spacious saloon. Danny Desoutter reviewed the Westerly Falcon for Cruising Magazine in 1987 and contemplated calling hais article 'Two heads are better than one' as it was amazing that space was found for two heads compartments in this 34 footer. He goes on to say...........''all running rigging is brought aft to the cockpit, including three leech reefing lines, but you must go up to the mast to bring down any of the luff cringles down to the hooks at the goose neck, then back to the cockpit to swig up the halyard As on other Westerly boats moving about the deck is easy though so the slab reefing is quick and easy even when single handed. Westerly have deliberatly kept the foot of the genoa fairly high, you can see clear ahead beneath if you sit to leeward. The boat proved to be extremly manoeverable under either sail or power, to such an extent that an insensitive helmsman could throw a crew meber off his feet! Such responsivness has two facets; it is delightful to be able to twist and turn so lithely, but on the other hand you do have to concentrate if you want to hold a steady heading.
