1984 Twister 28 MkII
The Twister needs little introduction. An outstanding long-keeled classic from the board of Kim Holman, with elegant lines and superb, well-mannered performance. These capable little cruisers have voyaged far and wide and are just at home in the middle of an ocean as they are pottering around creeks and backwaters. The boat is currently ashore for viewing.

Accommodation

The interior is attractively fitted out with solid teak joinery and offers four berths in one cabins.  Headroom is approximately 5' 9" and there is excellent stowage throughout the boat.  In the forecabin, V berth with infill and stowage under. Opening hatch to deck. Full width heads compartment with marine toilet, and washbasin. Cold manually pumped water system, 80 litre freshwater capacity. In the saloon, two settee berths. Chart table to port with comfortable seat. Galley opposite. Stainless steel sink. Two burner gimballed paraffin hob with warmer.

Located behind the companionway, 2017 Beta twin cylinder 14hp diesel engine, with 250 hours use.  Electric start. Shaft drive to a two bladed feathering propeller. Single lever control. 45 litre fuel capacity. 5 knot cruising speed. Maximum speed under power 8 knots.

2 x 12-volt batteries both 100Ah 2017. Charging from the engine alternator.

History and Construction

One previous owner who had her built by Hartley Marine in Rochester to his specification, he owned her for over 30 years. All original documentation available including original mould certificate by Tyler Mouldings with Hartley Marine invoices. Designed by Kim Holman the Twister was the younger sister of the Rustler 31 and a renowned for their seafaring capability. White GRP hull with cove line. White GRP superstructure with non-slip paint to deck.  Long keel with encapsulated lead ballast. Keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self-draining cockpit.
