Broker Remarks

This Wooden Sloop was built in 1939 by Millers of St Monans to a design by Robert Clark. KALISTRA was a greyhound of her era. This very attractive classic exceeds expectations with a tremendous all-points sailing performance. Duck below and you get a surprise too, and not to put too fine a point on it, you could be in a small club house! Comfort, style and quality in equal measures.

KALISTRA has a narrow but safe cockpit, enjoying a removable teak dining table and 'dicky' seats for Al Fresco dining. She has wide uncluttered side decks, and plenty to grab a hold of. The sheathed decks are very easy to maintain and were recently re-sheathed and over-plied.

This lovely ship is 80 years old and showing little sign of being ready to give up!  KALISTRA has been her current family ownership for 35 years. Sailed to Brazil in the 1950's, she is well proven and solidly built. Walk along the decks it is like walking on concrete! Heavy and solid, yet quick and manoeuvrable. This pretty 40 foot classic will not disappoint, and has the potential to bring her next owners an array of Classic trophies. A bargain.

A truly impressive, relatively low maintenance, fast, pretty, comfortable and well priced classic that someone will be very proud to own. KALISTRA is waiting to choose her next owner.
