Broker Remarks

1982 Princess 33 MkII
The Princess 33 MKII is a popular and spacious flybridge cruiser from a well-respected boat builder. It provides good accommodation and her lines have stood the test of time. Unfortunately, 'Phoenix' has been left standing and unused for a period, and now requires considerable care and attention before she could be used again.

Priced to sell she is considered a sound project but will need all systems recommissioning, so would be suitable for a practical owner who will complete much of these works themselves.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to seven berths in three cabins.

FORECABIN: Fitted with V-berths, infill to form a double, beneath berth stowage, hanging lockers and hatch to foredeck.

HEADS: Separate compartment to port with marine toilet, washbasin and excellent storage.

LOWER DINETTE: Located to starboard providing a convenient and private dining area opposite the galley, this also converts to a double berth and has further stowage in various cupboards and lockers.

GALLEY: L-shaped galley to port equipped with a 2-burner gas cooker with oven and grill, fridge, twin stainless steel sinks and ample storage in a range of cupboards and lockers. Steps lead up to wheelhouse saloon.

SALOON: Helm position to starboard equipped with navigation equipment and double bench seat. Settee berth to port with L-shaped settee to starboard and table. Glazed sliding door to aft cockpit with fixed stern seat and excellent engine compartment access. Ladder to flybridge with helm station, double helm seat and storage locker.

GENERAL: Although most woodwork is in reasonable condition, and the boat seems dry. All systems are untested and assumed to be not working.

Mechanical and Rigging

Mechanical Systems:

Located under cockpit sole, twin Volvo Penta believed to be 190hp V6 petrol engines. Seawater cooled. Twin Volvo Penta outdrive legs each with aluminium 3-bladed propellers. Dual single lever controls at both helms. Trim tabs.

The outdrive legs also appear to be in good solid condition however both these and the engines will need a comprehensive recommissioning program completed before they can be started and used.

Electrical Systems:

12v Battery circuit (all batteries will need replacing) charged via engine alternators. Electrical distribution panel. Full cabin lighting.

History and Construction:

Princess 33 MKII believed to have been built in around 1982 by Marine Projects to a John Bennett design. White GRP planning hull, superstructure, and decks. Teak bathing platform with stainless steel and teak ladder. Twin helm positions with dual station hydraulic steering and controls. Aft self-draining cockpit. Although Phoenix will require a significant investment of time and effort she looks to be in fair condition for her age in many ways and will make a great project for an enthusiastic DIY boat owner! This vessel has been ashore since May 2016.
