1984 Moody 31 with bilge keels
This Moody 31 offers six berths in three cabins including the saloon. It has Twin keels which makes it great to use on the East Coast of the UK. She has been in her present ownership for the past 33 years. Well equipped including hot and cold water, shore power and inflatable dinghy. The Moody 31 is recognised as an excellent cruising yacht capable of undertaking long passages and offering excellent accommodation.
Accommodation
This Moody 31 MK I offers six berths in two cabins and the saloon with two double berths and approx. 6' 1" maximum headroom. Forward is a V berth with infill which converts to double and good storage with hanging locker, shelved cabinet and large under berth storage lockers.
The aft cabin has a good double/king-sized berth, hanging locker, shelves and cave lockers and also under berth storage. Two single settee berths in the saloon with drop leaf teak saloon table. The yacht has blue upholstery throughout. Floor fully carpeted
The L shaped galley is to starboard with Formica work surface, single stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water, from the engine and 220v immersion heater. It has a Flavel two-burner gas cooker with grill and oven, top-loading 12v portable fridge and lots of storage. Hot and cold pressurised water system supplied via calorifer. Forward-facing chart table with lots of storage space.
Separate heads compartment with marine toilet, washbasin and showerhead. Wooden floor grating.
Heated throughout by a Wallas paraffin cabin heating system.
Mechanical and Rigging
Masthead Bermudan rigged sloop. Silver anodised aluminium mast and boom. Spreaders. Stainless steel standing rigging. Standing rigging last replaced in 1997. Terylene running rigging led aft to cockpit all replaced in 2019. In-mast mainsail. Profurl headsail furling system

Volvo Penta MD2003 28hp three cylinder diesel engine with electric start and reduction gearbox with reverse to shaft drive with 3 blade Gori feathering propeller. Single lever engine controls. Engine was last serviced in April 2019. She will cruise at 6 knots and has a maximum speed of 7 knots. Steel 100 litre fuel tank.
3 x 12 volt batteries ( 1 x engine, 2 x domestic) charged via engine 55amp alternator. 240v Shore power ring mains system and full cabin lighting, 15amp battery charger, 5 x solar panel.

This Moody 31 was built in 1984 by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd. with Lloyds Hull Construction certificate to a design by Bill Dixon. White GRP hull with blue style stripes. White GRP coach roof with light grey moulded non-skid decks. Cast iron bilge keels. Self-draining cockpit and anchor well. Alloy toe rails. Stainless steel rails and guard wires. Skeg hung rudder. Last out of the water in 2018 when she had her hull polished, anodes changed and was antifouled. The vessel is being sold due to health reasons.
