Broker Remarks

‘Cheviot’ is a very comfortable and practical centre cockpit sailing yacht designed by Bill Dixon.  She has all the usual Moody features of excellent build quality, good sailing performance and some thoughtful design elements.  She has a simple sail plan and uncluttered deck layout with all lines led aft to the centre cockpit for easy single or shorthanded sailing.

Powered by a Volvo 3 cylinder engine with 500 running hours she will cruse at 5 knots under power at about 2.5 litres of fuel per hour. There is a centerline double berth aft and two additional cabins, a double berth with infill forward, one single pilot berth to starboard and a single berth in the saloon to starboard.  The settee berth in the saloon drops to make a double so she could sleep eight crew / guests. Cheviot is a fin keel version with sloop rig, in-mast mainsail furling and headsail furling.  Teak decking in the cockpit, and wheel steering.  Equipped with Autopilot, GPS, Plotter, Radar, radar reflector, transponder and electric anchor windlass.

Sea water pump reconditioned in 2009 as was an exhaust silencer.  Engine hours about 400. Sloop rigged with furling main and furling genoa, all sail controls available in cockpit.  The Genoa is nearly new and was first used in 2009.  Most of the navigation equipment was fitted by the builders in 1999, the VHF is about seven years old.  The engine has been regularly serviced and winterised by Stephenson Marine in Dartmouth. She is currently ashore at Noss Marina.  I am selling her as I have purchased a new boat.

'Cheviot' is in fabulous condition inside and out and should be seen. Large price reduction and keen to sell
