Broker Remarks

This Moody 30 was built in 1978, but inside she has been completely renovated over the years and still looks like new. She has wheel steering to a skeg hung rudder with spacious accommodation for five and a good inventory including full winter cockpit cover, Chartplotter, AIS, hot water and diesel cabin heating. Standing rigging was replaced in 2014. This yacht offers 5 berths in two cabins and is powered by a 2004 Volvo MD2030. A 2016 pre-purchase survey is available upon request.



Accommodation

The Moody 30 offers 5 berths in 2 cabins with approx. 6ft of headroom. There is a double berth in the forward cabin with hanging locker to port. Aft of the forward cabin is the heads with hot and cold pressurised water and shower, a Lavac marine electric heads with an 85L holding tank. Hot water heated by engine and 240v immersion heater. Water tank holds 105 litres.

Aft of the heads is the saloon with two settee berths and a bespoke drop leaf saloon table. The chart table is aft of the saloon to starboard with ample storage for books and charts. The L-shaped galley is to port with a 2-burner gas cooker with oven and grill, stainless steel sink and an Ice box with a 12v refrigeration unit. Gas system was last certified in March 2022.

There is a quarter berth to starboard. This yacht has light blue upholstery throughout and curtains in saloon. It has a 2KW Eberspacher D2 diesel fired cabin heating system with two outlets that was fitted 2011 which provides a real cosy feel to the yacht

The cockpit has large storage lockers and gives a reel feel of comfort with ample room to seat five people.

Mechanical and Rigging

Sails & Spars:
This yacht has a masthead Bermudan sloop rig with single a spreader. It has a deck stepped silver anodised Proctor aluminium mast. Seldon boom. The Boom was replaced in 2011. Stainless steel standing rigging which was replaced in 2014. Terylene running rigging which has been replaced as required since 2013. Single line slab reefing mainsail with Lazyjacks with all lines led aft to cockpit. Furlex 2005 headsail roller furling system. Self-tacking Headsail system.

Mechanical Systems:
Located behind the companionway steps is a 2004 Volvo MD2030 3-cylinder 29HP Diesel engine. Electric start. Freshwater cooled. Sail drive to a 3-blade folding bronze propeller. Single lever control. Engine has completed approx. 1100 hours. It has a 105 Litre fuel tank giving an approximate 200 mile range at its 6 knots cruising speed. It has a maximum speed 7 knots. Engine was last professionally serviced in March 2022.

Electrical Systems:
2 x 12v 115AH domestic batteries new in 2014 plus 1 x 12v 105AH engine new in 2014. It has a smart charging battery system from Waeco Perfect  which charges from the engine alternator and via 240V shorepower system. A recent instalment of a dual USB connectors also fitted.

This is a great opportunity to buy an exceptionally well-equipped yacht in very good condition. The previous owner completely renovated this yacht spending in excess of £30,000 on her in his ownership. The current owner has continued that maintenance and has maintain a log of what has been done and when. She is ideal for the East Coast and has in the past been sailed along and around the East Coast and across to Holland. She would make a great family cruiser. Owner is open to reasonable offers for a quick sale.

History & Construction:
This Moody 30 was built by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd in 1978. White GRP hull with style strips. Hull last epoxied 1989. Light blue Coachroof with teak laid decks 2012 Cast iron fin. Wheel steering wheel to skeg hung rudder. Anodised aluminium toe rail. Midship cleats. Stainless steel pulpit, pushpits and stanchions. Teak laid cockpit seats. Three cockpit lockers and gas locker. Gates in Lifeline. Emergency Tiller. Last out of the water between November 2021 and January 2022 when she was antifouled and the hull polished.
