Broker Remarks

COLUMBINE is a classic Hillyard 9 ton cutter rigged sloop. Built in 1960 in mahogany at the famous yard of David Hillyard in Littlehampton. Mahogany hull Planked in mahogany above the waterline, Iroko below on steam bent timbers all copper fastened on an oak back-bone. These robust go anywhere cruising yachts have a loyal following. This cutter is no greyhound but has a long keel, a canoe stern and a deep, secure centre cockpit giving exceptional sea kindliness and easy handling. The centre cockpit design allows for a very comfortable aft cabin as well as the saloon and forward cabin. Upgrades include replacement engine, cooker, heads and pressurised hot and cold water.   COLUMBINE does, as all wooden boats, need some love and care to bring her back to her best but is priced accordingly.
