1989 Beneteau First 35s5
“Basha” is a 1989 Beneteau First 35s5 that offers great sailing performance as well as the luxury comforts of a cruising yacht. She is being offered for sale with an extensive equipment. Having the capacity to sleep six in three cabins and the saloon she makes an ideal race boat or fast family cruiser. A 2018 survey report is available on request. A very well-presented yacht.

Accommodation

The Beneteau First 35s5 offers 6 berths in three cabins and the saloon. The forward cabin with its arched opening door with a double berth with storage beneath, with one wardrobes and stowage space. Aft of the forward cabin is the saloon which has a central saloon table with drop leaves supported by machined aluminium plinths which allows up to six people to sit around the table in comfort. It also provides easy access either side of the table to the forward cabin. There is lots of under seat storage and additional storage behind the saloon cushions, plus substantial number of storage lockers above the seating area. Upholstery is finished in white. Aft of the saloon and to starboard is the L shaped navigation station with a large chart table, instrument panel and storage for books and guides. There is an array of instruments. Opposite the navigation station to port is the galley which consists of a gas cooker with oven and grill, 12V fridge, stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressurised water supply from engine. Ample storage. Aft of the navigation station is a separate heads compartment with marine toilet, wash basin and shower. Aft of the galley is a large double berth with hanging locker and storage beneath. The saloon and cabins are all noticeably light and airy.

Fractional rigged Bermudian sloop with Sparcraft silver anodised aluminium deck stepped mast and boom. Stainless steel rod standing rigging, with twin spreaders. Terylene running rigging replaced as required. Slab reefing mainsail. Furling headsail system. Alloy spinnaker pole. Mast and standing rigging was professionally inspected April 2018 report is available on request.

The engine has been regularly serviced, last serviced professionally April 2019. 60 Litre plastic fuel tank. Will cruise at 5 knots and has a maximum speed of 8 knots. Last out of water maintenance March 2019.

3 x 12 Volt batteries (1 x domestic, 1 x engine, 1 x Fridge) charged via engine alternator, 240-volt shore power system with ring mains, battery charger and full cabin lighting, inverter fitted wattage unknown.

History and Construction

Built by Beneteau in 1989 in France to a design by Phillip Starke/Jean Berret. White GRP hull and decks with moulded in non-slip surfaces. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering. Aluminium toe rails. Self-draining cockpit. Deep coaming with integral lockers and ventilated gas bottle stowage. All lines are led aft to the cockpit.
