A classic gentleman’s motor yacht with head-turning looks, built in the great British tradition. Lovingly maintained and upgraded by the current owners. “Curlew of St Helier” has a maximum speed of approximately 22 knots and a cruising speed of approximately 18 knots.
Accommodation
5 berths across three cabins: twin v-berth forward, aft ownerÂ’s cabin with double berth, saloon table and settee. Galley with [stainless steel] sink; top loading 24v fridge; Flavel Vannessa 2-burner cooker, with grill and oven. Electric extractor fan over cooker. Pressurized hot (calorifier) and cold water to galley and heads. Two heads compartments, the forward heads including a shower. Beige draylon upholstery and sage carpets.
Mechanical and Rigging
Hull No. 19 (1968). Designer: Alan V. Burnard. Hull is constructed of 9 x 1/8th laminates of Agba mahogany glued, compressed and baked in an oven. Superstructure is of marine plywood. New teak deck laid in 1998. New cockpit floor 2002. Twin 145hp Perkins T6.354 turbo diesels. Borg Warner 72c hydraulic gearboxes. Fuel tanks: 2 x 60 gallon. Average fuel consumption is 5 gallons/hour normal use. Freshwater tank: 100 gallons. Whitlock rod and gear steering, with Morse single lever gear/throttle controls. 24v ships main electronics. V-tronic voltage dropper for 12v equipment. 4 x 105Ah batteries (new 2004 and 2007). Shore power with battery charger. Ring main with 13 amp sockets. Automatic fire extinguisher for engine room.
