The boat was chosen to be able to cruise cross channel with a crew and still be able to sail single handed. She is set up with all lines brought to the cockpit making her easy to sail single handed and safe in a blow.
She is a fast comfortable cruising boat having enjoyed cruises to France, the Channel Islands, and the West Country.
Etaps are doubled skinned and foam filled hulls. Etap claim that this results in the boats being unsinkable – I have seen a video on a 28i flooded and still sailing. The really good part is that Cygnus is a very dry and warm boat – no condensation.
Only selling Cygnus due to personal medical issues.
