Broker Remarks
Three cabin version of this popular Dufour 36 family cruiser. 'Ocean Lotion' is an ideal boat to take family and friends anywhere you like. She has been under the same ownership since new a very well presented example with an owner who has clearly looked after his boat in a proper fashion. On the market at a price to attract a quick sale so early viewing is recommended.
Dufour sit alongside other mainstream manufacturers and are known for quality boats and performance. Fitted with a Volvo 29hp diesel engine that has been regularly serviced, with saildrive and the deeper lead fin keel and blade rudder.
Sloop rigged with Z spars mast, slab reefing and furling genoa.
Sleeps eight in four double berths in three cabins plus the saloon. The foreward cabin has an offset double berth with a seat the 'U' shaped seating in the saloon also converts to a double berth and aft are twin double cabins.
Dick Durham said in Yachting Monthly 2010 ‘She's a good-looking, sweet-lined boat with a decent turn of speed, helped by her moderately pronounced rocker. This keeps her broad transom clear of the water even when she is heavily laden for long-distance cruising. The saloon is taken right to the interior beam, which increases her sense of space, with some cost in stowage room. Designed for family cruising she is fast enough for competitive sailors, too.’
This Dufour 36 Classic is currently ashore for the winter at Noss Marina, close to our office.
Owners comments:
Moored on a sheltered mooring on the River Dart all her life, wintered ashore every year for 6 months and very light use over past 5 years.
She is an absolute pleasure to sail and points to windward very well and rides heavy weather with ease. A very comfortable and stable boat with a nice feel to the helm.
