1979 Colvic Countess 28 for sale in Kent.
Buongiorno is an excellent example of the very popular Colvic Countess 28. The current owner has undertaken a significant amount of work restoring the woodwork on this yacht to it's current excellent condition. Her attractive lines offer generous, comfortable cruising accommodation whilst twin keels allow safe exploration of shallow waters and drying moorings.  The yacht offers six berths in  the saloon and forward cabin. Well worth an early viewing. 

Accommodation

The Colvic Countess offers up to six berths in 2 cabins with approximately 1.85m of headroom.

The forward cabin has two V berths with a removable infill which converts the berths to make a spacious double. It has ample stowage area and an opening hatch to foredeck.

Aft of the Forward cabin is the heads compartment to port with Jabsco marine toilet and sliding wash basin with pressurised cold water. 

Saloon has a dinette seating area to port with brown tweed upholstery with a large table to which converts to a double berth and settee berth to starboard, with excellent stowage in various lockers above and below the berths. There is a bulkhead mounted TV/DVD player  and stereo radio with Bluetooth 

The Galley is to port and is equipped with a  two burner gas cooker with oven and grill, 240v Fridge,  sink with pressurised cold water and stowage areas.

The navigation station is to starboard. It has a reasonable sized chart table with storage for pilot books and area to display navigation instruments.  There is a single quarter berth aft of the navigation table.

The companionway steps move to provide access to the engine and lead up to the large cockpit which can easily and safely accommodated six people. 

Mechanical and Rigging

Sails and Spars:

This Colvic Countess 28 has a Masthead Bermudan sloop rig with proctor silver anodised aluminium mast and boom. The stainless steel standing rigging was last replaced in 2000. The running rigging has been replaced as and when required. The fully battened mainsail has slab reefing with two reefs dropping into a stack pack. It has a Furling reefing genoa.

Mechanical Systems:

Located under the companionway  steps is a Vetus M10 three cylinder 23hp inboard diesel engine (1989). Freshwater cooled. Morse controls with electric start. Shaft drive to fixed 3 bladed propeller. The engine was installed new in 1989 and has done 550 engine hours. It This yacht has a 100L stainless steel fuel tank . A cruising speed of 6 knots  and a maximum speed of approximately 7 knots. Some service history available. Engine last serviced in 2021. 

Electrical Systems:
2 x 12v marine batteries, one domestic, and one dedicated to engine. Batteries charged via engine alternator and 240V battery charger. The yachts has a 240v Shore power ring main system.

History and Construction:

This Colvic Countess 28 was built in 1979 by Colvic Craft Ltd. It has a White GRP hull, superstructure and grey painted non-slip decks. Encapsulated cast iron twin keels. Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder. Self draining aft cockpit with Teak grating that was made in 2023.  The owner has only owned the yacht for the past 12 months and  is selling as he is  looking to buy a larger yacht. The yacht was last out of the water at the end of 2022.
