Broker Remarks
The reputation of Contessa speaks for its self and this example has had many recent updates. The current owners have had her for 9 years but have known and sailed he since 1994. They say that she is a fun boat, fast and can be sailed very competitively in club races or cruised in the Solent & France.
Accommodation
The Contessa 28's accommodation is arranged in two cabins. In the forepeak is a double V berth whilst in the main saloon there is a single settee berth on the Port side and a settee berth on the Starboard side that can convert into a Double. Betwen the forward and main cabins can be found the seperate heads compartment, containing a Lavtec marine WC and a hand basin with a wet hanging locker opposite across the gangway. The cabin cushions were renewed throughout in 2004 and are currently stowed off the boat. The Galley is equipped with a two burner hob with grill and a sink unit
Mechanical and Rigging
This 1979 Contessa 28,Designed by Jerem Rogers and built in Lymington, is constructed in GRP, with both the Hull and topsides being in white. She has an encapsulated lead Fin Keel and Spade Rudder with Tiller steering. A new, Sea Water cooled,10hp Beta Diesel was fitted in 2004 and was last serviced in January 2008. The Tankage consists of: 1x 42 Litre (10 gallon)fuel Tank 1x 72 Litre (16 gallon) Water Tank The Contessa is Sloop rigged with a deck stepped mast. The mast and spars are aluminium from Kemp. The Stainless Steel Standing rigging was replaced in 2001. She has a slab reefing mainsail. A Hood furling system for the Genoa. Sail Cover. Spinnaker Pole.
