Broker Remarks

The Halmatic is a well proven long keel traditional cruiser that will take on any weather. Sturdy construction with keel hung rudder. Well fitted out with craftsman joinery this is an excellent example ideal for short handed cruising. The Mark 2 has many enhancements from the original proven design. All facilities provided for the self sufficient yachtsman and with five berths. This vessel has had continuous investment in current ownership to bring to +A1 standard.

Owners comment: This vessel is faster than you would expect. I use 5.5knts on average under sail for calculating ETA. With her long keel she points high and tacks through 80 deg and when balanced correctly and in favourable conditions will do 6.5 knts upwind with no pressure on the rudder. I have sailed her in F8-9 with two reefs and storm jib. With low centre of gravity and an optimum 20 deg angel of heel for max speed up wind. Easily sailed single handed - I have sailed in F6 with one reef and full genoa and she tacks perfectly and no strain on the autopilot and sails with a very comfortable motion. Below with off centre accommodation design she has more room that one might expect from a 30ft boat of this era.
